Sun, water, and beach fun – and some effort too! – during September heat

EGM celebrated an 'Indian Summer' with a Beach BBQ at Oostvoornse Meer

Although it seems like the summer of 2023 refuses to leave us, the timing for the annual EGM barbecue was exceptionally well chosen. It was a delightful evening on the beach at Brunotti Beach Club on the shores of Oostvoornse Meer.

After a welcoming drink under a spacious beach tent, EGM employees competed in balanced teams on the beach in a series of challenging beach games, thankfully with the water nearby. Water was, in fact, a part of most of the challenges.

The real 'pièce de résistance,' where employees of an architectural firm were able to shine, was a tower-building challenge. Using bamboo sticks and rubber bands, teams had to construct the tallest possible structure within a limited time frame. The ingenuity and technical expertise of one team led to an indisputable victory. The team that built stacked, well-braced modular cubes with a pyramid on top had devised such a sturdy construction that it could be completely dismantled and reassembled, demonstrating its solidity. They claimed the 1st place convincingly.

Afterwards, the drinks continued, and a delicious barbecue followed soon after. The serving staff at Brunotti Beach Club kept everyone well supplied with beverages to their satisfaction. Prior arrangements for carpooling ensured that everyone could safely make their way home long after the sun had set, following a delightful summer evening on the beach.
